Rev. Robert and Kim Barnes

Robert joined EPI because of the influence of its founder, Jack Arnold. Jack and the Session at Howell Branch Fellowship (now Covenant Presbyterian Church) hired him to be their youth worker in 1988. He was drawn to Jack’s teaching style and Carol’s cookies. But soon he was distracted by meeting Kim, his future wife. They were married by Jack and have spent 35 years in ministry. Kim is presently the Women’s Ministry Director at Westtown Church in Tampa, FL. They have two grown children: Bethany (Augusta, Georgia) and Noah (Richmond, Virginia).

Robert graduated from Belhaven University (1988) with degrees in social work and music, and has a Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary (1994). He was ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) as a Ruling Elder in 1997 and as a Teaching Elder (Pastor) in 2004. Currently, he is a member of the Southwest Florida Presbytery (PCA), which includes Westtown Church, where he serves on the pastoral staff.

He has over fourteen years of experience as a senior pastor in Virginia and Florida, four years of experience as a music pastor, most recently at First Reformed Church of Tampa, as well as two years as a youth director with Jack Arnold. His past experiences using technology, writing, and editorial skills with Ligonier Ministries, Third Millennium Ministries, CRU, and Crossway Books have equipped him for his ministry with EPI.

Robert and Kim are excited about partnering with EPI missionary Martin Odi and others who are committed to seeing East Africa experience full, holistic revival, in Spirit and in Truth.
